What Is a Turkey eVisa

The eVisa is a fully online Electronic Travel Authorization for eligible nationalities travelling for recreation, business or transit. You apply from home, provide your passport details and an email address, pay the applicable fee, and typically receive your approval within a few hours, and never more than 48 hours. There is no appointment, no in-person visit, and no physical stamp needed before you travel.

What Is a Consular (Sticker) Visa

A consular visa is issued in person at a Turkish embassy or consulate, or in some cases on arrival for very specific categories of traveller. It generally requires an appointment, physical documents, and can involve longer processing times measured in days or weeks rather than hours. Consular visas are typically required for purposes the eVisa does not cover, such as long-term stays, work, study, or certain nationalities that are not eligible for the eVisa system at all.

Which One Do You Need?

If your nationality appears on our list of eVisa-eligible countries and you’re travelling for tourism, business, or transit for up to three months, the eVisa is almost certainly the right — and far faster — option. If your trip involves a longer stay, work, or study, you will likely need to contact the nearest Turkish consulate directly for a full visa.
