If you are booking a trip to Türkiye and wondering how much lead time to leave for your travel authorization, here is what to expect — and how to make sure your application isn’t the one that takes longer than it should.
Typical Turkey eVisa Processing Time
Once your application and payment have been received and validated, most travellers receive their approved Electronic Travel Authorization by email within a few hours. Our service commits to a maximum of 48 hours, though the large majority of applications are completed well before that.
What Can Slow Things Down
A handful of factors can push processing closer to the upper end of that window:
- Passport details that don’t match exactly, requiring a manual check — see our requirements checklist to avoid this.
- Payment issues, such as a declined card or incorrect billing details.
- Unusually high application volumes during peak travel seasons.
- An email address typo, which can delay you actually receiving a document that was issued on time.
How Far in Advance Should You Apply
While most eVisas are issued quickly, we recommend applying at least a few days before departure rather than at the airport or the night before your flight. This leaves a comfortable margin if any detail needs to be double-checked, and avoids any last-minute stress.
What Happens After You Receive Your eVisa
Once it arrives by email, take a moment to check that your name, passport number and validity dates are correct. Your Turkey eVisa is valid for 180 days (six months) from its issue date, and permits stays of up to three months per entry. We recommend saving a digital copy and printing one as a backup.
